Damian Hirst was born in 1965, when free love and butterflies reigned.  His first solo exhibition was entitled In and Out of Love, in which he filled the Woodstock Street Gallery with hundreds of live tropical butterflies, some of which were hatched from the monochrome canvases that hung the walls.  His rarefied butterfly effect was acutely felt at Valentino's delicately grand haute couture presentation.
